Agreements with various departments and agencies authorize the Directeur de l'état civil to provide them with the information necessary for the application of the laws and programs they administer. The agreements set forth operating procedures in compliance with the applicable laws, particularly regarding the protection of personal information. Only authorized personnel in the departments and agencies concerned will have access to this information.

Below are the departments and agencies that will automatically be notified of the death, and those that can be, according to the answers provided by the declarant of the death on the form Application for the simplified forwarding of information relative to the death.

Retraite Québec - Québec Pension Plan and the Family Allowance	For the administration of the Québec Pension Plan and the Family Allowance. Retraite Québec - Public sector pension plans (RREGOP, PPMP or other)	To ensure that no proof of death is required of the deceased's relatives as part of the formalities they must complete to benefit from the deceased's public sector pension plan. Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale	For the administration of the Programme d'aide sociale and the Programme de solidarité sociale (including the recovery of amounts owed). Revenu Québec	For the administration and application of the laws and programs for which it is responsible. Canada Revenue Agency	For the administration of the Income Tax Act. You will still have to contact the CRA in some situations. Ministère du l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale – Québec Parental Insurance Plan	To ensure that the file of a deceased person who submitted an application for benefits under the Québec Parental Insurance Plan or received such benefits is processed. Régie du bâtiment du Québec	To ensure that the public register of licence holders kept by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec is updated, where the deceased held a licence issued by the Régie du bâtiment.
